It's been nearly two years since our last long trip. It's time to remember how to do this.
One of the most important steps in a long trip is to take a short trip, first. We did that today with an overnight stay at Ohio's Alum Creek State Park. We're in site B-44. The weather is beautiful.
We arrived at the storage lot at 10:30, tested the stove, turned on the refrigerator, stowed our supplies, hitched up, and were in the road by 11:30.
The trip included a stop for a few grocery items and a nice breakfast at Scramblers near Delaware. We got to the campground around 2:00pm.
We connected to shore power and water, cleaned, organized, tested, and fixed things until 6:30. There are some batteries to replace and a few things to tighten. Everything else seems to be working fine. The trip has already been worthwhile.
We'll do some cleaning tomorrow morning and head home by 10am ... so Carol can have lunch with a friend and Dick can attend a meeting.
