The Route
We drove 196 miles today. The GPS guided us a few miles from the campground to UT-30. UT-30 took us to Logan, Garden City, and on into Wyoming where we connected with US-30. US-30 connected with I-80 near Little America. Rock Springs was down the road a bit on I-80.
About the Day
It was sunny and 43° when we left the campground and only made it to 57° by the end of the day.
Along the Way
It's 39 miles from Logan to Garden City. The drive took an hour. It was full of steep ascents and descents, curves, and beautiful sights. It was a stressful tow.
We crossed the Bear River Mountains and descended into Garden City. The 2-plus mile, 8% grade presented beautiful views of turquoise-blue Bear Lake and increased our heart rates.
Garden City is a big-bucks, tourist mecca. It was quiet today because we showed up off season. Thankfully, Cody's Gastro Garage was open and empty when we arrived. Our lunch was delicious and a welcome break from driving.
Driving became easier as we continued on US-30 and I-80.
Travel Trivia
Nothing new today.
The Campground
We're in site 82 at Rock Springs/Green River KOA Journey. It's a western campground at the foothills. It's not fancy, but the services work well.
Tomorrow
We're off to Cheyenne.
2mi if 8%. Sounds tough! At least it was pretty!! Hope the rest is flat!
