The Route
This was a 229 mile travel day. We started out with a drive of about 45 minutes on lovely country county and state routes as we made our way from Sycamore to I-90. We followed I-90 and then I-94 to the Black River Falls (Exit 115). The final leg to the campground consisted of 8 miles on a few county roads.
About the Day
We got on the road by 9:45am. The day was mostly sunny and reached the mid-80's. We got to the campground about 4:00pm.
Along the Way
The county routes were peaceful and attractive. The interstate routes were had lots of truck traffic. We saw lots of fun and frolic possibilities as we passed the Wisconsin Dells exits.
We ran into a 30 minute traffic jamb. Traffic slowed to a crawl and eventually squeezed into a single lane. Signs blamed construction but there was no construction or workers evident. Oh, well.
Most employees in restaurants and gas stations wear masks. Some customers are masked. We stopped at a Denny's in South Beloit, WI. Their sanitizing, distancing, and mask protocols were top notch.
Travel Trivia
The GPS continues to amaze. It estimated 228 miles from campground to campground. The odometer recorded 229 miles. How does it do that?
The Campground
The Hixton/Alma Center KOA was a pleasant surprise compared to our previous stops.

Tomorrow
We'll stay at Sinclair Lewis Campground in Sauk Center, MN.
We continue to hear that advance reservations are required these days. We'll stay in Jamestown Campground in Jamestown, ND on Friday. Note: we stayed there on July 24, 2016. It was dated, but nice.
Closer and closer! Glad you have reservations! Many hugs!
